Watamu sits on the edge of one of the richest big-game grounds in the Indian Ocean. Between November and March the sailfish run is genuinely world class; marlin, tuna and wahoo are on the cards year-round.
The boat is a 33ft sportfisher with outriggers, a fighting chair and a crew who have fished these banks for two decades. All billfish are tagged and released under the Kenya Association of Sea Angling protocol; edible fish come home with you and the villa chef will cook them.
Beginners are welcome — the crew will rig, teach and coach. Tackle, bait, lunch and drinks are included. Half days are available at a reduced rate.
